Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. It is the mission of Baptist Temple Church to make disciples of all nations. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Baptist Temple Church members are involved in a variety of ministries such as praying for those in need spiritually and physically, tutoring students, ministering in area nursing homes, serving in residential treatment facilities, going on mission trips, participating in local mission projects  and seeking to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others.

"18 What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it.
19 Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law),so as to win those under the law.
21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law.
22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.
23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."
I Corinthians 9:18-23

Mission Outreach

Baptist Temple Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God's kingdom locally and around the world. We are actively supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We are involved with local mission projects. We go on mission trips to serve in other communities.  We help sponsor a new church in Eagle Pass (Real Path Baptist Church).

We seek to honor God by worshipping Him through music, service, giving, and proclaiming His Name with love.   Everyone is an important part of the worship ministry of Baptist Temple Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  "Let Everything that has breath Praise the LORD!"  Are you breathing?

Ushers and Welcome Team

The usher team at Baptist Temple Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction  and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Baptist Temple Church. In an age of widespread technology, we  use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.  We have a Facebook feed for additional church communication.

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Baptist Temple Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God's sovereignty.  Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study at 6 pm. During that time we send out prayer cards to those for whom we have prayed.  We have a group of women who meet every Tuesday morning at 8:30 am to pray and lift of the needs of others.
"13 Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:13-16

Children's Ministry

Children's Church
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible,  Baptist Temple Church holds a children's church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time will give kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. The Children worship along with the whole congregation during the main service time and then go to their location for Children's Church. Our friendly children's church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity--ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
Is a children's mission program that meets on Thursdays after school.  It is a time of missions study, missions projects, food and fun.  It is for children from Kindergarten through 6th grade.  We can pick up children after school with the church van and we conclude at 5pm.
Team Kids
On Wednesday evenings at 6 pm we have Team Kids. A time of Bible teaching through activities, projects and play. It is for children Kindergarten through 6th grade.
"14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14
